I love that you're doing this at the arboretum. All those trees and paths make for the prettiest backdrop, and there is so much room to find a quiet spot where it is just the two of you. And yes to close-ups of the ring ~ that is one of my favorite things to shoot right after she says yes!

The plan, so nothing is left to chance
We'll sort all of this out over text or a quick call before the day. I'll be there for any questions leading up to the big moment!
We pick the exact spot
I'll walk the arboretum beforehand and find the spot with the best light at that hour, then send you a photo of it so you know exactly where to stand.
We agree on a game plan
Either I'm hiding in a bush, walking casually, or you "pretend" I'm a stranger, and ask me to take a photo of you two! We will figure out a plan that works best for you.
I'm already there, out of sight
I arrive early and blend in with everyone else out walking the trails. Long lens, nothing obvious. As far as Bailey knows, we have never met.
The moment, then the reaction
I stay on you both through the yes and everything right after it, because that part is usually the best part.
Then I introduce myself
Once she is in on it, we spend the rest of the time taking real portraits of you two, plus all the close-ups of the ring ~ the magical, golden hour photos right after the most special moment.
The arboretum requires a photography permit
It is quick to take care of and you book it directly with them. Grab it whenever we have your date settled, and send me a copy so I have it on me the day of ~ that way nobody has to think about it while you are in the moment!
Get the permitAnd if you would rather skip the permit altogether, just say the word. I know several beautiful spots around Houston that are free or close to it, and I am happy to send you a few ideas that would photograph just as well.
Years from now this is the picture that sits on the shelf. Not the posed one ~ the one from the half second after she realized what was happening. That is the one I am there for.
